Hard fought / well deserved.
On the strength of Jan Mag's pace, Corvette Racing shows its speed and 'bounce-back' capabilities.

Mags made a nice pass on the BMW near the end - that battle for 3rd was well televised by SPEED.

P7 And P8 At Miller Qualifying
alms
Of course, Qualifying is not racing.
So, now it's time to see if this video was referencing the final flag.

The good news for Corvette?
Anthony Davidson is still in England, not Utah / And the valves are still in the C6R engines.
Let's all pull for better news than that for Sunday - A win!

Corvette Is Ruling GT3
FIA-GT3 Race 7 + Race 8 went to Corvette.

Actually, the Z06's took both races with 1-2 podium placements, giving its drivers, team, and the Corvette brand leads in each of all 3 Championships.

Compared to GT1 and GT2 specs, a GT3 Corvette is closer to production vs race-tech.
All just further validating that a Corvette, at its essence, is the better performance car.

If only Corvette could prove that vs competition like Audi, BMW, Ferrari, Lambo, and Porsche.
Oh wait. Those brands all race IN GT3? How about that!

maybe the other brands should start incorperating torque into their engines designs.

A Different Corvette Image
Anyone have any background on these Corvette race cars? Another.
Not exactly in the image of current Corvette Racing attitudes and technologies are they?

There were a few of these Covettes of this vintage in the funny car wars. A number of them crashed on the big end because of poor aero dynamics with the chopped off roof of the coupe body. Once they cut off the roofs they did not have anymore of the accidents on the big end. I do not remember this paint scheme but I do remember the candy appler red one of the Beachcity Corvette funny car though. Like I said there were a few of them but none really done all that well.

Advice For C7 Corvette?
Chevrolet changes ad agencies. And now so does Cadillac. Buick is marketing to young people via pop-up concerts. GMC is doing a viral guy-skills contest. Seems to be all about making the GM brands more noticed / more in-synch with new consumers.

So, what of Corvette? Yes, we see Corvette's current web contest, the C7 rumors, a new internal study - 'What should Corvette be?'. But, BBV asks YOU. How would you define, position, and market Corvette? To spark your thinking, some options -

THE CAR [design and engineering]
a] Always stay connected to Corvette heritage, just evolve.
b] New thinking for a new generation. Big changes, please.

THE MARKETING [who to reach]
a] 1st priority is the traditional Corvette buyer.
b] Time for more new + young owners.

THE MESSAGES [what to say]
a] The current marketing messages are OK.
b] Bolder tactics to shake up perceptions of Corvette.

THE TONE [how to say]
a] Serious sports car performance.
b] Aggressive in-your-face fun.

THE POSITIONING [how GM uses Corvette]
a] Corvette stands alone.
b] Corvette is the performance technology standard-bearer for Chevrolet.
c] Corvette is the performance technology standard-bearer for all GM.

So, what do you think? Feel free to embellish above and / or add new ideas.
And yes, assume there should always be Corvette Racing [and Jake?].

Corvette should do a C6 GT1/GT2 limited edition, paint it yellow and black and have a full carbon body made from the same molds as the racer, use a tuned 7.0l (GT1 LE) or 5.5l (GT2 LE) V8 putting out similar figures to the racers.
Strip the interior, fit carbon bucket seats with a full roll cage, have A/C and radio (the GT1 and GT2 cars have A/C FYI) and make it feel like a proper race car. In fact, just make the GT2 car street legal and sell off 50-100 of them before the C7 comes along.
